Usually I can over look some things if the story seems interesting enough, including a certain level of poor grammar, characteristics that are contrary to what's seen on tv, poor formatting, etc, but for the past few weeks I haven't been able to do that. I wonder if I'm getting too picky sometimes, especially when I'm mentally yelling 'Get an editor!' when I don't always use a beta myself (and I probably should. If anyone's actually reading this and is interested in betaing CSI fics with no pairings, please email me.)<br /><br />On the one hand, being picky can be a good thing, but on the other hand this is a hobby for most of us. So how picky is too picky? I think a few typos are certainly reasonable as I have several professionally published paper backs with errors. A repeated misuse of they're, their or there and other homonyms are extremely annoying.
